What is Larviciding?
Larviciding involves the application of larvicides, which are chemical or biological agents designed to specifically target and kill mosquito larvae in their aquatic breeding habitats.
By treating mosquito breeding sites with larvicides, mosquito larvae are eliminated, thereby preventing the emergence of adult mosquitoes capable of biting and transmitting diseases.
When to Implement Larviciding?
Larviciding is most effective when conducted during the mosquito breeding season. In Malaysia, where mosquitoes are prevalent year-round, larviciding should be performed strategically to target peak breeding periods.
